World Class Endodontic Care

After Treatment

Once Dr. Dale completes your endodontic treatment, the area where your root canal treatment was done will be sealed.  We seal the outside surface of your tooth with a temporary bond.  A follow up with your dentist is important to prevent a possible fracture or damage to the tooth.  We will send a report to the dentist’s office with treatment details.  We will consult with your dentist to determine the best course of action to keep your tooth protected.

You may experience some tenderness in the area as your mouth heals.  This is temporary and this discomfort should respond well with over-the-counter medications.  Sometimes medications will be prescribed to help alleviate post operative discomfort.

Contact immediately if you experience any of these symptoms:

  • Visible swelling around your mouth (inside or outside).
  • Allergic reactions to medication
  • The temporary crown or filling comes out

Wait until the numbness wears off before eating so you don’t bite the inside of your mouth.  Chew on the opposite site of your mouth until your treated tooth is fully restored.

Proper post-treatment restoration is a necessity. The patient must contact the referring dentist after completion of the endodontic therapy to arrange for the permanent restoration.

Take proper care of your teeth by brushing, flossing and consistent check-ups with your dentist.  See the video below on how we work with your dentist to ensure the best care for you.
